Salt Lake Climbers Alliance Fundraiser on Thursday, June 14!

Black Diamond Equipment, a leading global innovator in climbing, skiing and mountain sports equipment, is hosting the 3rd Annual Salt Lake Climbers Alliance Fundraiser on Thursday, June 14. The event will take place in front of BD’s SLC headquarters, in the parking lot otherwise known as the Black Diamond Courtyard, at 2084 East & 3900 South.

The Salt Lake Climbers’ Alliance is a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Created to promote climbing opportunities, the SLCA preserves local climbing access and encourages stewardship of the environment. Located within minutes of Salt Lake City, the Wasatch Mountains are a climber’s paradise. These mountains host an incredible variety of climbing terrain, from long, multi-pitch routes in alpine settings to a lifetime of bouldering. Unknown to most climbers however, is the patchwork of private and public lands that make up the boundaries of the Wasatch. In the past, infrequent use of many areas kept access problems to a minimum.

The event will run from 6-10 p.m. and will include beverages from the Red Rock Brewery, food from Barbacoa, live music from the local Smokin’ Blues Band and Nicole Paradiso, and auctions to benefit the SLCA. Additionally, Black Diamond athletes Josh Wharton, Cedar Wright and Mike Libecki will be present to support the cause. The fundraiser will be held outdoors, rain or shine. All guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult and please, no dogs! Tickets are currently being sold at both the BD retail store, I.M.E., REI in SLC, and White Pine Touring for $25. After June 12, tickets will retail for $30. Kids under 12 get in for free with a suggested donation.

Associated sponsors include: All Seasons Adventures, Blue Sky Adventures, Canyons Resort, Erica Lyon, The Front Climbing Club, Imagination Palace, IME, La Sportiva, Liberty Mountain, Maxim Ropes, Metolius, Momentum Climbing Gym, Mountainworks, Park City Yoga, Prana, Prana Yoga, Red Rock Brewery, REI, Rockreation, Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, Sterling Ropes, Utah Mountain Adventures, White Pine Touring and more.
