Teachers Run 5K for FREE at Utah Marathon

Are you a teacher? You can run or walk the Utah Marathon Crazy Legs 5K, a costume-encouraged fun race for families, for FREE on Saturday, October 13, courtesy of sponsors Ken Garff Automotive Group and SirisDynix Corporation.

“Studies show that, other than parents, teachers are the most important role models in our children’s lives,” said Rick Folkerson, President of the Success for Education Foundation and Executive Director for Community Relations at Ken Garff. “There are many ways to educate students.  Teachers can show students how to be physically and academically fit EVERY DAY by training both their bodies and minds.  Fitness is not just physical, it is also intellectual: education is the key to that success.”

The Utah Marathon and Fittest State Festival consists of five events: the full 26.2-mile marathon, a 13.1-mile half-marathon, a costumes-encouraged “Crazy Legs 5K” for families, a one-kilometer “Kids K,” and a bicycle tour of the full marathon route. Live bands and other entertainers will greet racers and spectators at “Fit Stock” at the finish line in Library Square.
