Learn to Ski Cheaply at Utah Resorts in January


learn to ski monthIf you live in the land of the Greatest Snow on Earth and have yet to ski down it, now is the time to learn. January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month and every resort in Utah is participating by offering deals for first-time skiers or snowboarders. Below is a list of local promotions for deals on lift tickets, rentals, and lessons.

Most deals are available just in January, but some carry through the season.

Alta's Learn to Ski Package is great for children and adults who are first-time skiers that want to start skiing. Choose any four days of the season you want to ski (excluding holiday periods). You'll get four beginner lift tickets, four lessons, and four days of rental equipment for $199. Enrollment is limited and reservations are required. Call now to reserve your space. Learn to ski or snowboard for only $39. Package includes lift ticket, lesson and equipment rental and is valid January 2-18, 2013. Mention Ski Utah Learn to Ski and Snowboard Package to claim this offer.

$45 for a two-hour lesson, rentals and a lift ticket for Chairs 4 & 6. Available January 12-13 or 26-27. Participants will receive a bounce back coupon for two $45 get better lessons. If the participant completes both get better lessons, they will be eligible for a 50% off season pass, 50% off rentals and a free lift ticket to bring a friend, for the remainder of the 2012/2013 Season.

Get a ski or snowboard intro package for $45. Packages include a 2-hour morning or afternoon lesson, an all-day ski or snowboard rental and a full-day learner lift ticket. Promotion starts January 2 and ends January 31. To participate, visit brightonresort.com and print out the "THIS IS THE MONTH TO LEARN" voucher and redeem it at any ticket window at Brighton. This offer is for ages 13 and up. Lesson times are at 10:15 AM and 1:15 PM daily.  Group lessons are also available on Thursdays evenings at 6:00 PM.

Their Learn to Ski or Ride program for ages 4 and up is just $39.00 per day per person for the month of January. This affordable offer includes a lift ticket (limited to learning areas), equipment rental and two 2 ½ hour group sessions with a one-hour lunch break. This program is for Utah residents who are first-time skiers or riders. Program is offered January 5 – 31, 2013. Advance reservations are required and are based on availability. The "Learn to Ski" Program is for locals that are first-time skiers only (Local is anyone with a current Utah driver's license. Without a Utah driver's license, a photo ID accompanied by a current Utah property tax form, Utah utility bill or Utah business paycheck stub.) Available on Saturday, January 26, 2013 only. The clinic is from 9 a.m. to noon and is $39 for lesson, lift ticket, and equipment rental.

EAGLE POINT
Eagle Point has special pricing for new skiers and boarders on lift tickets, lessons, and rentals in January. Adults get a lesson, rental, and learner lift ticket for $59. Half-day package just $39.

Never-ever skiers and boarders can participate in the StartNOW program. For a total of $200, the five-day StartNOW program includes the following each day of the program: lift tickets, beginner lessons, and equipment rental. Participants must be Utah residents aged six and up. Get five weeks of lessons on Saturdays for ages 8 and up for only $95. (Does not include equipment or lift tickets.) Session Dates: January 5, 12, 19, 26 and February 2, 2013. For $39 an individual can participate in the Lucky 13 program. You'll receive a Little Cat Lift ticket, 2-hour Group Lesson, and Basic Rental. Lessons are available daily at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Lucky 13 is designed for first time and beginner skiers & snowboarders only. From January 2-31, 2013 in the afternoons only, first-time skiers and riders can get a 2.5-hour lesson, lift ticket, and rentals for just $45 (normally $95). But a larger learning package and receive a FREE Learner Permit Pass that entitles you to additional discounted lesson days and five additional days of skiing at half price.

On selected dates in January, get three half-day lessons, rentals, and beginner lift tickets for $165.For first Time skiers and snowboarders ONLY. Available on January 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 25, 26*, and 27, 2013. Lessons are during PM class only (1:00 – 3:15 p.m.)  Must arrive by noon each day in order to assure timely equipment rental. Costs $165 for 3 half-day lessons, rentals, and all-day beginner lift ticket. At the completion of the three lessons, and filling out a survey, guests will receive a free all-day/all-mountain lift ticket. Utah residents only. Reservations can be made at 801-536-5730.

Learn to Ski or Snowboard for $75 (an average savings of $20). For ALL ability levels from Beginner to Advanced. The package includes half-day lesson, full-day lift ticket, full day rental. Must be booked online. Not Valid on Friday or Saturday or during the following holiday periods: December 26 - January 1, January 14-16, and February 18-20, 2013.

Learn to ski or snowboard for $39 during the month of January for first-time skiers and boarders. This includes the lift ticket, lesson, and rental and is valid any day in January except Jan 1 and Jan 21, 2013.
