Gear Review: Dakine Hex- Coming Fall '13

Despite our recent storms, the snow is melting all too quickly for skiers and boarders. For everyone else, springtime cannot come soon enough. Neither can the new Hex baselayer from Dakine, which hits shelves in September 2013. Put it on your winter wish list.
The Hex's fabric is a stretchy poly-spandex blend with an Microban® antimicrobial treatment to fight the funk. Its semi-relaxed fit works well for winter activities requiring a mid-weight baselayer.

Though it's a little heavy for running in anything but the coldest weather, it does a good job wicking away moisture.

The unique hex pattern woven into the fabric is designed to create a layer of warmth close to the skin. The Hex is maybe the most comfortable baselayer I have ever worn, and even though I didn't get the chance to get it out in the cold too many times before the sun started melting the snowpack, I have used it enough to dub it my go-to baselayer when the mercury drops later this year.

For now, it makes one sweet set of pj's.
