Review: Marmot Women's Spire Jacket

Marmot Women's Spire Jacket

Review of Marmot Spire Ski Jacket for Women

One of my favorite pieces for this ski season so far has been the Marmot Women’s Spire Jacket. I’ve been wearing it while ski touring, ice climbing, and resort skiing and I’ve been happy with this choice each time—whether I’m getting blown sideways because of the wind or need rapid ventilation because of the surprising sunny days on the slope. It’s made of GORE-TEX® and probably some strands of Superman’s hair. $400 marmot.com

Tech Specs:

  • 100% Seam Taped
  • ERG Hood Adjustment System + Helmet Compatibility
  • Integrated Laser-Drilled Pocket Backing
  • Zip-off Powder Skirt
  • Internal Zip Mesh Media Storage Pocket
  • Elastic Draw Cord Hem

How does it work?

The 2-layer construction, designed for a wide range of outdoor activities, uses a specific GORE-TEX® membrane bonded to the outer material and protected on the inside by a separate lining. The separate lining ensures better wearing comfort and versatility.
The 3-layer construction, designed for more demanding activities, uses a specific GORE-TEX® membrane sandwiched between the outer material and backer material. 3-Layer provides added durability without additional weight or bulk.
