SHRED, DONATE, AND SAVE MONEY AT THE SAME TIME!

Brighton Resort, located up Big Cottonwood Canyon, is already one of the least expensive mountains to visit in Utah, with adult lift tickets costing just $64. On Saturday, December 15, tickets will be even cheaper with Brighton’s Shred the Edge 2012 event featuring a day full of fun, challenges, and opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

The day will include DJ Thump Factor, a rail jam sponsored by Saga Outerwear, a public race course, photo booth, raffles, and professional athletes Wiley Miller and Pep Fujas, who will be there signing autographs.

Adult full-day lift tickets will be just $40 for the event. Advanced registration is required, and proceeds will be donated to the Utah Special Olympics. To register for Shred the Edge 2012 visit www.firstgiving.com/SOUT/ShredtheEdge

Why else should you attend? Because Brighton is what you remember a mountain being. Parking is free, you eat chili and burgers off paper plates, the lift operators politely do their jobs as they wait for the opportunity to sneak off for a few laps of their own. The lift lines are seldom long enough to warrant a groan of disapproval.

Come to Shred the Edge because The Utah Special Olympics is important. This organization provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. People with intellectual disabilities are members of our community and the Special Olympics seek to encourage the development of their physical fitness, courage, and skills.

If you are unable to attend Shred the Edge 2012, but you would like to donate to the Utah Special Olympics, please visit their website at www.sout.org
